Lime Street Station

Maggie Mae’s Lime Street Station was named for a historic Main Line and Underground Railway Station serving the city center of Liverpool, England.  Lime Street Station was opened to the travelling public on August 15, l836 and is known as the first commercial railway in the world. The building of Lime Street Station began in October 1833 and the span of iron and glass roof was completed in l849. It was then the largest iron roof used on any building in the world, and the first time such a construction had been used to cover a railway station.
